After nearly 18 months of inactivity, we are finally able to reopen. 8th September sees our first luncheon club meal together since March 2020 as we welcome back punters old and new!
The team has not been totally inactive in the meantime – meals on special occasions (and “just because”!) were distributed to members’ homes – food parcels, treats, and a friendly face at the door, just to remind people that they were not forgotten. We did try to organise meals in small groups a few times, but ever-changing government restrictions just made it impossible.
Thankfully, in August of this year we were able to serve the usual summer strawberry tea to over 60 people, and what an afternoon that was! Happy faces and smiles all round as people reconnected with old friends and enjoyed sandwiches, cakes and – of course – strawberries with cream.
So here we are now, September 2021, ready to serve our fantastic 3 course meal again. Beryl and the team will be delighted to see all our old friends again, and to welcome any newcomer who wants to give us a whirl.
We start back on Wednesday 8th September, at 12.30pm, and you can expect the same warm welcome, time to chat with old friends – or make new ones – a superb meal, and the usual banter from some of the staff who shall remain nameless!
